C2C MHC for Texon: Building a Healthier World,One Product at a Time

Texon achieves C2C Material Health Certificate Gold for Texon Vogue (Sahara) product

Texon – one of the world’s leading developers of material solutions for the footwear and apparel industry – has achieved a Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Material Health Certificate at Gold level, following a project with EIG. Texon was awarded the certificate for its Texon Vogue (Sahara) product – a durable and practical washable paper, which is used by many fashion designers and big name clothing brands worldwide.
Texon became involved in the C2C community in 2019. The company’s involvement followed an invitation from Charming and G-Star RAW, who were looking for a jacron solution to fit G-Star RAW’s quality needs.
Focused on its customers’ needs, Texon had selected a Forest Stewardship Council certified paper pulp and worked with EIG to ensure that the bleaching process it was using was totally chlorine-free.
Following a Cradle to Cradle Material Health assessment, EIG and Texon worked together alongside the Material Health Assessor, MBDC, to find a bleaching solution that satisfied C2C health criteria at Gold level.

Texon C2C MHA paper-based alternative for leather.

Texon Vogue is a paper-based material that is widely recognized as a vegan friendly viable alternative to leather-based products. Available in a range of colors and finishes, Texon Vogue (Sahara) – a beige material – is certified for the application of jacron and jeans labels. Easy to stitch as a label onto denim garments including jeans, Texon Vogue can withstand stone washing, enzyme washing and dry-cleaning. Dimensionally stable, the material does not shrink or stretch, but will wrinkle slightly after washing, giving it a natural vintage look. Outside the fashion industry, Texon Vogue is also used in the manufacture of bags, book bindings, cases, furniture and luggage tags.
