Copenhagen Fashion Summit: were fashion and consciousness meet
This past spring was the 5th edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, an event that has become an international reference in sustainable fashion. This edition, inaugurated by Her Royal Majesty Princess Mary of Denmark has been 100% oriented to explore the central aspects of the transformation of the current business model to the circular economy inspired by the Cradle to Cradle® principles. With the keynote address of William McDonough, and the participation of Lewis Perkins (President of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute), the congress brought together leading personalities from both retailers and non-profit organizations.
With this framework, the Fashion Positive initiative helded its workshop day, in which the consultants and firms involved in the process of market transformation shared their experiences. EIG, represented by Ignasi Cubiñá, explained the work carried out with different firms dedicated to cashmere and wool spinning, used by luxury brands like Maiyet and Stella McCartney.
The Fashion Positive database grows every day and new brands have joined the program, as H&M and Kering Group that have recently joined as Plus Members.
