Cliente: Vivienda y Suelo de Euskadi, S.A. – Euskadiko Etxebizitza eta Lurra, EA (Visesa)

Service:

Consulting for the public sector

  • Preparation of a matrix of regulations with enablers and barriers for the application of circularity in the Basque Country (European, Spanish, and Basque regulations).
  • Development of a first version of a circularity justification tool for the Next Generation funds for social rental housing.
  • Application of the first version of the circularity justification tool to a specific project.
  • Review of the second version of the circularity tool.
  • Circularity improvement proposals for the project (both general and by layers).

Objective:

To develop a tool for Visesa to justify the circularity of its projects according to the requirements of the Next Generation funds, which require justification in line with ISO 20887: Design for adaptability and disassembly.

Scope:

The project was carried out in two phases:

  1. A first phase involving the development of the initial version of the tool.
  2. A second phase reviewing the second version of the tool, including improvements introduced by Visesa.

Achievements:

The final tool was used to justify the circularity of Visesa’s projects in applying for the Next Generation Funds.
It has also been integrated into the design process to monitor circularity across the different stages of the project.

What does the client say?

It has been extremely helpful to have the support of the EIG team throughout the development of our circularity assessment tool for our housing developments.
The team was fully committed from the beginning, perfectly understood our goals as well as our specific limitations and needs.
Throughout the project, they provided us with confidence and reassurance, demonstrating their deep expertise in environmental impact assessment.
In developing the tool, they fully aligned with our specific activity, and as a result of this collaboration, not only were we able to implement the tool, but the process also served as training and learning for Visesa’s staff.
Special thanks to Miren and Gemma for their full commitment to the work, their professionalism, and for making our goal their own during the collaboration. They functioned as a unified team and always maintained a proactive attitude.”
