Project: Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze v.3.1 in its entire catalogue.
Context: Andreu World is a seating and table manufacturer with more than 65 years of experience, working to create innovative, sustainable and comfortable designs for work, corporate and public spaces, as well as for outdoor, hotels, cafés and restaurants. As they state in their mission statement, they are “committed to making a positive impact on the planet”.

Andreu World wanted to achieve Cradle to Cradle Certified® for all its products, being the first company in the sector to have the entire portfolio certified
Scope of the project
100% of its furniture collections, a total of 6,830 products, were audited and certified with the C2C Certified v3.1 Bronze seal.
This ambitious challenge of wanting to verify all the references in its catalogue was resolved by classifying them into 4 large groups (Wooden Seatings, Wooden Tables, Technical Seatings and Technical Tables). 4 certificates with 6830 references in version 3.1:
- Wooden tables: 3831
- Wooden Seatings: 256
- Technical Tables: 2371
- Technical Seatings: 372
Step by step
Review of the manufacturing process and composition of Andreu World products to check their compatibility with the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard version 3.
Andreu World products to check their compatibility with the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard version 3.1 Bronze level.
Work with Andreu World and its entire Supply Chain to generate transparency in the Material Health and Material Reutilization category and qualify for C2C Bronze level requirements.
Implement procedures for data collection and prepare documentation and justification to achieve at least Bronze level in all categories of the Standard.
Identify the main limitations of the products and the company to reach in the near future, higher levels and evolve to the new version 4.0 of the certification.
The project required the collaboration of more than 100 direct and indirect suppliers, who confirm that all the materials and finishes of their products are free of what the Standard defines as restricted substances (BLS).

How Andreu World will do it:

- Working in an environmentally responsible manner with the goal of Zero Waste.
What we have learned
Andreu World’s desire to generate a positive impact on the planet makes it a key partner in the implementation and scalability of the Circular Economy.
Working through “building books” allows us to cover a greater number of products.
The identification of suppliers aligned with the objectives and requirements of C2C Certified is key to achieve success and obtain the necessary information to manage all the nutrients of the materials.
Working on the entire catalogue allows us to have a global base of well-oriented products, but lacks the depth that a narrower focus gives us.
